Application
SIMCOE Lubricants SAE 10W-30 API CK-4 is a heavy-duty diesel engine oil for on-highway and off-highway engines specified on the lighter grade. Its additive system handles soot and guards against wear and deposits, and the 10W rating pumps quickly on a cold start. It is compatible with DPF and EGR after-treatment.
Use it where the engine manufacturer allows SAE 10W-30 under API CK-4. That is increasingly the case on late-model on-highway fleets that want the fuel economy 15W-40 cannot give, and anywhere winters are cold.
A heavy-duty additive system keeps a durable anti-wear film on liners, cams and bearings through the sustained load and long duty cycles of a turbocharged diesel.
Shear-stable viscosity and low-friction chemistry cut parasitic drag through the valvetrain and bearings, which shows up as fuel saved across a fleet's mileage.
Soot handling, oxidation stability and TBN retention keep the oil in grade between services, so the engine can run the drain interval its manufacturer publishes.

Measured physical and chemical properties (kinematic viscosity at 40°C and 100°C, viscosity index, HTHS, flash point, pour point and total base number) are issued per production batch on the certificate of analysis. See the lab reports library or request the current batch report.
